Hat-trick for Beating Wings!

BEATING WINGS has continued to impress when notching up her 3rd career victory from just 4 starts and concluding a well deserved hat-trick!

This was the filly' first step up into something beyond a mile. Based on her previous wins and style of running, it was suggested that the distance of 1800m would suit her down to the ground. The 3-year-old took the opportunity to show off a bit and cement the fact that she is a progressive sort.

Regular jockey, Calvin Habib partnered up with the filly again and was confident coming into the race. He positioned the filly towards the back of the field and with a solid pace it worked well into her favour. Calvin took advantage of the long Vaal straight to let the filly get into stride and build up some momentum. At around the 400m mark the filly stepped it up, began looking for company to challenge and pulled Calvin through to the line to win going away by 1,25 lengths.

The Rafeef filly is certainly one to follow, however this year's 3-year-old fillies have some real stand outs and her competition is going to get a lot tougher as she climbs through the ranks.
