Easy win for Sound Machine!

SOUND MACHINE made it look too easy when winning her maiden at Turffontein yesterday!

The 3-year-old filly came into the race after running a good 2nd and was one of the fancies to be competitive in this race. With another well backed favourite in the race it was probably not expected for this filly to win so well, but the stable and connections were thrilled with her winning margin of 6.75 lengths.

Philisande Mxoli partnered up with the well bred Var filly. With the advantage of pole position draw, it made it easy for Mxoli to place the filly and ended up settling mid field in compact race. When coming into the straight, the pace was turned on quickly and the filly just needed to find her footing. She was angled toward the middle outside of the field with a clear run, turned it on in a matter of strides. With around 200m to go, she hit the front and stretched away for the easy win.

Her next run will be a good indicator of what her future might look like. It was an easy win, but not the toughest of fields, but all she can do is win. Well done to all the loyal connections who love their racing and horses, Messrs M J Campbell, W D Jackson, L M Leathem, R H Mordt & C C Valjalo.
