Too easy for Mercantour!

The Stable came into MECANTOUR'S juvenile race very confident after a very promising debut. The good looking son of Var was as green as could be on debut and ran a very credible 2nd over the 1000m trip. In this race the stable were confident that he had come on leaps from that run, would have learnt a lot from the experience and the extra 100m played perfectly into the outcome. He would prove very difficult to beat.

Diego De Gouveia was able to get him into the race as the gates opened and held a good handy position. He found his stride and relaxed himself which showed how much he had come on from his first run. When the question was asked he had a great turn of foot, skipped clear and was never in danger. He won by an easy margin of 2,50 lengths.

He is certainly well above average. The stable has always taken time with progressive two-year-old's and and the well bred Varsfontein gelding will definitely be one for the notebook. The continued experience and natural ability should see him continue his winning ways in the near future.

Even though it was only a maiden win, it was a special one as loyal patron to the stable and big supporter to the sport was able to lead his horse into the winners enclosure, a very big congratulations to Mr Vicky Veeramootoo for the win and the stable always appreciates the support.

Thanking the sponsor once again for their on-going support - HOLLYWOODBETS.
