Stable Hat-Trick and Graded race success!

It was a special day for the yard by completing a hat-trick of winners from just 4 runners, including a double on the day for HSH Princess Charlene, one of which being the Grade 3 fillies mile.

FOLLOW ME will have her career certainly live up to her name. She has always been regarded well above average and her Grade 3 confirmed that she has a bright future ahead of her. The 3-year-old Gimmethegreenlight filly was bred by Varsfontein stud and is lightly raced, only having her sixth start and making her now a three time winner. Since her maiden win back in June, she was always going to be the type of filly to progress over the classic distances, with all the experience and step up in trips, she will definitely be one to "follow".

The race itself may not have panned out the way Diego would have wanted, and landed himself in the lead, fortunately the filly got there easy and was able to stride freely and set her own pace, when coming into the straight, Diego had a quick look around to see where the competition was and when the question was asked, she kicked clear and probably won easier than the margin suggested which was 1,35 lengths and in the fastest time over a mile on the day.

A huge congratulations to Princess Charlene, who celebrated her first feature race success and to father Mike Wittstock who was able to be on course to lead the royal colours into the winners enclosure. It is such a pleasure and honour for the stable to train a horse in the Royal silks, where full confidence and all the patience is given to run and place the horses where necessary. The support is greatly appreciated.

Although it Graded race was the highlight of the day, it was the yard's first runner of the day that began the celebrations and making it a double on the day for the Royal colours!

CHERINGOMA notched up her maiden win over a mile at the 3rd time of asking after a narrow defeat in her penultimate. It was only her her 3rd run, but was probably slightly overdue as this filly in her own right is also well above average. It was not the strongest of fields and based on the betting she was the obvious choice. It was the manner in which she won which was very positive, winning by a distance of 4,00 lengths and still getting into full gear. The Flower Ally filly is beautifully bred and will continue to strengthen and improve with age. Yet another filly bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein that needs to be noted in the books. Once again congratulations to the Royal silks and an exciting prospect for the future.

Race 4 fell right in the middle of these two winners, and gave the stable their hat-trick for the day. QUIET REBELLION was by no means shadowed by the first winner as her win was full of merit. On debut she ran a cracker, finishing only only a length behind Cheringoma. It was a real confidence booster when her stablemate won the 3rd race. Once again, also a well bred filly out of Silvano and seems to have a lot of scope about her. She was taken on the colts in just her 2nd start which is why it was a race full of merit. She travelled very well during the race and when young Kabelo Matsunyane moved the filly into the clear and asked the question, the answer was instant and ended up winning by one length. She is bred to go group and is sure to grow into a beautiful 4-year-old. She may also be another for the notebook.

Congratualtions to the Ackerman family, who are having a good run at the moment and Mr Willem Ackerman was fortunate enough to be on course and lead his filly into the winners enclosure. Mr Ackerman has put a lot of money into the industry and its always a pleasure for the yard each time to see his colours cross the lone first. The stable appreciates the support.

Thanks to the sponsor HOLLYWOODBETS for all their support in the season thus far.
