Look out for the big white blaze!

Fortunately enough racing had been moved to an enjoyable night meeting at Turffontein, and it was in the lucky last where SOUTHERN BLAZE impressed in in maiden win!

The 3-year-old Global View colt was only having his second start after a very promising debut when running 4th and only beaten just over 2 lengths. The experience under the belt had brought him on many lengths and definitely made him the horse to beat. He ended up winning the race as easy as he liked by 2,50 lengths and even though it was just a maiden win, the manner in which he won was very impressive and as Keagan de Melo had stated in his interview, he was at a loss for words.

He is a beautiful looking colt and stands over a lot of ground. Generally bigger horses do not have a turn of foot like others, but Southern Blaze showed an excellent turn of foot when asked the question and impressed Keagan who just needed to guide him to the finishing post.

He is sure to go over more ground as he continues to progress and seems to be above average, it will be nice to see that big white blaze in races to come and see what he may have to offer for the rest of the season.

A big congratulations to Adrian Lane, Bernie Lane and Paul Marks, very long patrons of the stable and extremely patient. It's a pleasure for the stable to train them another winner and hopefully they are going to have a lot of excitement with this colt's future.
