Gutsy win for Follow Me!

The striking royal colours made their way to the winners box again when FOLLOW ME won a gusty race and reclaimed her strong 3-year-old form, fighting on strongly to win by 0,30 lengths after returning from a slight break.

The relatively lightly raced 4-year-old has now notched up her 4th career victory from just 14 starts. She has always given the impression that she is well above average and had run with some of the best as a 3-year-old. Unfortunately the Gimmethegreenlight daughter is her own worst enemy when it comes to race time. She has a lot of difficulty settling in races and uses up way to much energy to finish her races off. With that being said she is always only a few lengths off, probably with her natural ability keeping her competitive.

Young Jeffery Syster hopped upon the filly for the first time and demonstrated some lovely hands to have her a lot more settled than normal towards the rear of the field. She came into the straight seamlessly following a few others. At around the 250m mark she hit the front and was up to the rest of the field to try get to her, she fought off the only challenger really well.

It was a win full of merit as it was a very competitive field. Hopefully the beautiful looking Varsfontein stud bred filly can keep her mind on the job in her races to come and remain competitive. A very big congratulations to Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene du Monaco Grimaldi on this latest win, including the Princess's father, Mike Wittstock who represents his daughter here in South Africa. All connections offering so much to the industry as a whole which is greatly appreciated. Also a special appreciation by the stable for all the support.
