Group 2 success for Anything Goes!

Saturday's race looked like it would be ANYTHING GOES toughest challenge yet, as she was needing to take on some older hard knocking sorts, but her class prevailed!

Keeping an undefeated record adds on to the pressure, especially five in a row and in a group race. The stable were very confident though and with her natural progression, she would be right there in the shake up. The pole position draw is always such a benefit. This allowed her regular jockey Diego De Gouveia to just let her jump out and place herself perfectly against the rail, just off the pace. When coming into the straight, Diego asked the question, and the answer was instant. She kicked into gear and ran away from the opposition. She won by 3,00 lengths and in a good time!

Her merit rating was increased from 111 to 120, making her the highest rated 3-year-old filly in the country. Her future plans will be taken one step at a time, but her next obvious choice would be the EMPEROR'S PALACE READY TO RUN CUP as she was a graduate. She is top of the log and a favorable draw would be the next box to be ticked.

It's always a pleasure to have the owners on course to lead their champion filly into the winners enclosure. Well done to Mr Ian van Schalkwyk and Mr Anton Marx, long time supporters of the yard, they deserve all the success.

Well done to VARSFONTEIN STUD for breeding such a wonderful Var filly. The Stud also bred a stable favourite, Surcharge and now known as Youlong Prince, who ran a cracking 4th in a Group 1 in Randwick, Australia on Saturday coincidentally.

Thanks to the sponsor HOLLYWOODBETS for their ongoing support throughout the years and the new exciting season!
