It was a great day at the Vaal, have the stable enjoy a double! The first winner was the first time juvenile filly with the very suitable name of FOLLOW ME. A beautiful looking Gimmethegreenlight filly, bred by the Varsfontein stud. The stable were confident of a progressive run, but thought the distance may be a bit sharp and would be happy to see her running on, this was evidently not the case.

Randall Simons rode her positively out the gates to get her up with the pace and in the race. She settled perfectly and always seemed to be travelling. When the question was asked her turn of foot was instant and she won by 2,00 lengths. She would have come on from the race and will improve with distance.

A huge congratulations to HSH Princess Charlene du Monaco Grimaldi and her father, Mr Mike Wittstock who was on course to represent the Princess and lead in the filly. The support for the stable has been phenomenal and always appreciated. We hope that FOLLOW ME is one to follow in the near future and can create further enjoyment for everyone involved.

In the same race was another first timer from the yard, named WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE. She was hopelessly left at the start but ran on very nicely to finish 5,00 off her stable mate. She will come on a lot from the run and experience and one to keep an eye on.

Later on in the day, Mr Mike Wittstock found himself leading in another winner, he celebrated the win with his partner Mr Ivan Snyman. GALAXY RAIDERS was only stepping onto the track for the second time after a promising first run where she was a decent 5th, there was only natural improvement to come and the stable were expecting a good run. It was a well timed ride from Diego De Gouveia, who had not ridden a winner for the stable for some time while being out with an injury. The Act of War filly definitely has more to come and will be interesting to see her post maiden run which will give a good indication as to what the team can expect from her. Well done to all involved.
