Castletown's class pulls him through!

Castletown's first run as a 3-year-old has got off to a winning start. This now makes the Silvano gelding a two time winner from just three outings.

He came into the race after running a promising 5th and beaten just under 2 lengths in the Grade 2 Golden Horseshoe, and if he had come into that race with some more experience he may have been much closer. It was a run full of merit. Therefore the pressure was on the odds coming into this race with odds of around 4/10. There are no certainties in racing though, however his class pulled him through over a distance which is well below where he would be suited too. He is definitely an above average sort and will continue to improve with race experience and many lengths better over more ground.

He will most likely be marked down for the 3-year-old feature season and will have his career patiently laid out. With the support of a great group of owners, this helps the team to plan the best route for a horse with a future. Well done to Mr M Campbell, W D Jackson, T Kung & C C Valjalo. As previously stated, he was not a cheap yearling (R500 000) but being one of the picks of the sale for the yard, they put the money down. Hopefully the will continue to have fun with Castletown this season. The support is always appreciated.

Well done to the sponsor - HOLLYWOODBETS.
