A double for the fillies at Turffontein...

June 19, 2020

It has been a while since some stable celebrations have taken place, but with racing on the go again and the stable stepping out some nice runners, hopes are that the celebrations can continue in the months to come.

The stable had two runners on the day and both of them winning for a 100% strike rate on the day.

A starting mention to all Owners involved in the stable, big or small. The stable is very appreciative of the support and patience shown during some of the tougher times that 2020 has brought upon everyone. It is great to see some of our horses back on the track, enjoying their racing and the further enjoyment that brings the owners to see their horses out there again.

Race 3 saw ANYTHING GOES step out onto the track again, where she had won a very convincing maiden first time out and show that she has some class about her. The small break did the 2-year-old filly the world of good by helping her to strengthen and mature a bit more. Coming into the race the stable were very confident based on how well her work at home was going and she just needed to put it together in the race. Diego placed her well in the race and when he pressed the button, she got into gear and won going away. She is an exciting prospect for the future and the young Var filly has a lot of progression still to come. Well done to Mr Ian van Schalkwyk and Mr Anton Marx, once again thanking them for their support.

Race 8 brought on a slight surprise to land the stable double. Although the stable were in the hopes of a much improved run, seeing PATH TO THE STARS step up and also win her race going away, was a great end to the day. She will not be going to Hollywood but it was a much improved run with the drop back in distance and the blinkers to help get her mind on the job. She still seems to be a little immature and hopefully with some time she can improve a bit more. In the right type of races she could be competitive. A very big thank you to Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene du Monaco Grimaldi and her father, Mr Mike Wittstock who was home in South Africa to help shout the filly home. The stable appreciates the opportunity and support and excited to see what the future holds.

Thanks to HOLLWOODBETS for their support of the stable and their support to the industry as a whole.
