The opening race at the Vaal on Tuesday was an easy runaway winner, seeing EXPRESSFROMTHEUS take off and end up winning by a 4,50 length margin. A well timed and tactical ride from Marco van Rensburg, helped to guide him home!
This was only his third run, and with running third in both of those races prior, it seemed like he could only improve. This was also his first run as a gelding which was needed after showing that he was very hot in his prior. The gelding has definitely helped with his focus and can only assist in his progression.
He has always showed a lot of scope and ability at home, and it's great to see him bring it to the course. With the correct plans and time allowed to let him continue to mature, he is definitely a horse worth keeping an eye on for future.
Mr Clive Barnard, who is still relatively new to the yard, owns and bred the 3-year-old out of What A Winter. Well done to Mr Barnard and the team at Rooispruit Stud. The yard is happy to have such owners and appreciates the support.
The yard in general has been very quiet, with not many winners recently, but nor too many runners. With such a young string at the moment and only a few horses to run, some time and patience is what's needed. With the young string starting to step out soon, the stable hope's to start building up the winning tally again, and of course hoping to find a potential new stable star.
