KINGS ARCHER, the stable's most mature resident, won his 7th career race with some authority.
The 8-year-old gelding has been such a consistent sort throughout his career and continues to enjoy his racing at home and the course. It has taken a long time for him to get back to winning ways but the dropping in merit rating was needed to get him back to being competitive in his current class.
This victory all worked out perfectly with the combination of a nice
draw, suited distance, low weight and well timed ride. Cole Dicken, a young apprentice with the claiming of 4kg helped in having him being so well weighted in the race, it was a patient and confident ride.
Well done to Mr Ian van Schalkwyk who can continue to watch the old timer add another win to his tally. As long as he still continues to enjoy racing, he will come to the course and put in heart with every run.
