Consistency pays off for Iron Sky!

Finally a day that IRON SKY could celebrate a victory, notching up his first win at the Vaal. Despite being so consistent, his first win was well overdue, and it was clear that Iron Sky was more than capable of coming out on top.

The What A Winter gelding is not an easy horse to ride, and it is possible that he could have won much earlier on in his career if he had the right conditions in his races. However, jockey Diego De Gouveia has shown a great affinity for the horse, riding him three times for one win and two second-placed finishes.

Although he went off at very short odds, it was far from an easy win. He fought on bravely all the way to the finish line, getting his nose down in front when it counted the most.

While it has taken him a while to win a maiden, Iron Sky may still have the potential to win another race in the right type of field. He has clearly demonstrated his ability to remain consistent, and with a little bit of luck and the right conditions, he could go on and land himself in the winners box again. A lot of his pervious form lines have shown multiple winners and he may very well remain competitive.

Congratulations are in order for the owners Mr Ian van Schalkwyk and Mr Anton Marx on their well-deserved win. There had been many partnerships involved with both owners and its always a pleasure for the yard to add to their winning tally. Their support for the stable is always appreciated.

Thanking the sponsor once again for all their support - HOLLYWOODBETS.
