Back to back wins for Tulip Tree!
TULIP TREE was able to follow on from her last victory and ended up, once again in the winners box at Turffontein!
This is a filly that is showing signs that she is getting better with every run and deserves the honors rolls on a few short lists and black books. Excluding the filly's first run, she has managed to run into the money on every account, and is now a 4 time winner from just 9 starts!
Diego de Gouveia had won on the What A Winter filly last time about and opted to use similar tactics over the 1800m distance. The filly has shown that she has an excellent turn of foot and, if given the chance to use her stamina to build up the necessary speed, she will be a contender in the finish.
This particular race seemed to work out perfectly for the lightly raced 3-year-old. She cemented herself in her preferred position at the back of the field and bided her time. Coming into the straight, she had the advantage of taking the shortest route home along the inside rail and along with that turn of foot, was able to hit the front in no time. Once she had hit the front she kept kicking and it was a matter of how far the winning margin would be, a very good ride by de Gouveia.
It was great to have Mr Willem Ackerman on course to lead in the ultra consistent filly. A filly that evidently is above average and should continue to progress as she gets older. It's another very promising sort that the Ackerman family owns and the hopes are that she continues to progress through the ranks. Well done to the Ackerman family.
