Kings Archer still has heart!

KINGS ARCHER, the stable's most mature resident, won his 7th career race with some authority. The 8-year-old gelding has been such a consistent sort throughout his career and continues to enjoy his racing at home and the course. It has taken a long time for him to get back to winning ways but the dropping in merit rating was needed to get him back to being competitive in his current class. This victory all worked out perfectly with the combination of a nice draw, suited distance, low weight and well timed ride. Cole Dicken, a young apprentice with the claiming of 4kg helped in having him being so well weighted in the race, it was a patient and confident ride. Well done to Mr Ian van Schalkwy

Seattle Force gets back to winning ways!

SEATTLE FORCE once again pointed out how much of a revelation he has been since joining the yard from the Cape. He has won 4 out of his 7 starts here in the Highveld, including a hat-trick! Yesterday's race was a competitive race and seemed like it would always be a touch too sharp for this progressive sort, but everything fell into place and it was a good win. It was a well timed and patient ride by Marco van Rensburg who had him sitting just off the leader, and once they entered the straight it never looked like he would be giving up the lead he had took over, and ended up winning by just over a length.
