Emmeline cracks her maiden win.

Race 4 at Turffontein on Saturday saw EMMELINE run on nicely to get up and win. She seems to be quite the erratic sort and only puts her best foot forward when she feels like it on the day. She ran a good couple of places which was nice to keep her going and wait for her win to come along. It was a perfect ride by Gunter Wrogemann who seems to get on with the filly well. Well done to Mr Mike Winstanley who has been patient enough to see the filly put her best foot forward. With placement in the right sort of races she could very well see another couple of places and snatch up another win. Her next run will tell us a lot. Well done to the stable for having three winners so far this month and

Two winners at the Vaal - A nice start to the season!

It was nice to see a great start to the season for the stable with a double at the Vaal yesterday! The first winner was by SURCHARGE in Race 6. The stable has high hopes for him in the future and he should progress into a lovely sort in time. It was then the lucky last that saw MOSHAV take his career wins to 3. He was able to ultilise the favorable outside rail, was ridden with patience and came th

TYSON - 13 years since his Summer Cup win and enjoying retirement!

A very big thanks to Jo Stevens for the heart warming update on old man TYSON and how he enjoying his retirement in the UK! "Dear Mr Pettigrew I have just found your website and thought I would send you an e mail to let you know what happened to Tyson after racing if you are interested. I know it was some years ago now that you trained him to win the Summer Cup - I have had him for nearly seven years already since he came off the track. Since he has been with me, we have mainly done hacking, cross country fun rides and a little bit of hunting. He is a charming horse and I hope I have provided him with a lovely retirement. Just to let you know he is alive and well and much loved. Jo Ste
